Role Overview

This full-time onsite position in Miami, Florida supports the physical and mental growth of student-athletes by building and overseeing training programs that improve performance. The role is focused on helping athletes compete better, train safely, and recover effectively.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and support training plans that improve student-athletes’ physical readiness, mental development, and game-day performance.
  • Design sport-specific conditioning work to build strength, speed, and cardiovascular fitness.
  • Teach and supervise proper weight-training methods for athletes.
  • Help run and maintain the athletics weight room while enforcing safety practices.
  • Attend athletic competitions when requested and feasible.
  • Coordinate athlete schedules in the weight room.
  • Work with athletic trainers to understand injury status and assist with rehab-oriented training support.
  • Track athlete progress through accurate records and written updates.
  • Contribute to the creation and rollout of strength and conditioning policies.
  • Keep regular communication with coaches, athletic staff, and medical personnel.
  • Use vehicles to transport students and recruits when needed.
  • Protect confidential medical, academic, and personal information with strict discretion.
  • Follow all applicable State of Florida, university, NCAA, Conference USA, and department rules; escalate any known NCAA concerns to compliance leadership and oversee subordinate compliance where applicable.
  • Oversee strength and conditioning for Women’s Basketball and provide additional support for Indoor and Beach Volleyball.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • One of the following certifications: CSCS, SCCC, or CSC.
  • Ability to travel locally and nationally.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and at off-campus or non-university locations when required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment checks: criminal background check, driver’s license check, and fingerprinting check.
