Role overview
This position is for an Assistant Controller based in Markham, Ontario. The role is full-time and must be performed at the employer’s physical workplace, with no remote option available.

Experience
Applicants should have 3 to less than 5 years of relevant experience.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
- Set up, manage, and improve accounting systems.
- Maintain accuracy while ensuring compliance with accounting standards, procedures, and internal controls.
- Prepare financial information for individuals, departments, or organizations.
- Create financial statements and reports.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting systems and management practices.
- Build and maintain cost reports, findings, and internal control procedures.
- Review and interpret financial documents and reports.
- Inspect accounting records for completeness and accuracy.
- Support the planning and completion of financial statement audits.
- Perform variance analysis.
