About the practice
McCauley Daye O'Connell Architects is an award-winning, design-led commercial architecture practice with an active portfolio spanning architectural, workplace, and hospitality work across Ireland, Europe, and the USA.
The firm is looking to add a new team member to its growing, energetic studio. It offers exposure to a broad mix of projects, including residential, educational, workplace, hospitality, and commercial office developments.
The practice is structured and technically mature, with a dedicated Technical Director and BIM Manager, and it follows ISO-certified workflows for project design and delivery. Digital information and BIM are managed under NSAI ISO19650 certification. The team includes more than 50 professionals from 14 nationalities, with a 45% female gender balance. Staff are encouraged to grow according to their capability and ambition.
Role overview
This position is for a qualified Architectural Technologist who can contribute to the team’s project delivery from design development through to technical coordination and production. The role requires strong technical judgment, solid construction understanding, and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative studio environment.
Key responsibilities
- Support the team in developing architectural design and technical information across a range of project types.
- Prepare and coordinate detailed construction drawings and documentation.
- Assist with planning, statutory consent, fire safety certification, and disability access compliance matters where required.
- Contribute to tender package preparation and assembly.
- Work in a BIM-based 3D environment from early stage design through to project completion.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the practice and contribute positively to team delivery.
Required experience and skills
- Degree-qualified Architectural Technologist, with at least a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Technology.
- Minimum of 3 years’ post-graduate experience.
- Strong understanding of Irish building regulations and statutory approval processes, including Planning, FSCA, and DAC.
- Excellent technical and construction knowledge.
- Proven ability in detailing, design development, and tender documentation.
- Practical BIM modelling experience is essential.
- Self-driven, organised, and able to work within a structured team environment.
