Role overview
This position supports project leadership in delivering architectural work from early concept through construction and handover. The role involves coordinating multiple contributors, shaping design outcomes, checking compliance with regulations, and keeping projects moving to schedule. It also offers exposure to business development and sustainability-focused practice improvements.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Project Director, Associate, or Architect in carrying out the project’s design direction and management plan.
- Coordinate inputs and outputs across the project team and related parties, while helping to drive the work towards agreed targets.
- Review design work to ensure it aligns with the applicable regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Track project timelines closely, assess progress regularly, and help maintain momentum against stated objectives.
- Contribute to business development efforts for potential clients.
- Take part in initiatives that strengthen the practice and embed environmentally sustainable design methods.
- For Architects, undertake the duties of a Qualified Person in line with Singapore’s Building Control Act.
- Carry out pre-design studies, feasibility reviews, and site and zoning analysis.
- Translate client briefs, budgets, and timelines into design solutions that also meet authority requirements.
- Develop design concepts and detailed solutions with attention to technical considerations, codes, standards, and good practice.
- Support conceptual and detailed design development alongside the Project Director, Associate, or Architect.
- Prepare the overall project programme and schedule.
- Handle project documentation and tender-related preparation.
- Draft material specifications and schedules of finishes.
- Support projects during construction, including resolving site and design issues and managing handover activities.
- Manage project administration and keep records organised.
- Assist with administration of building contracts.
- Review shop drawings.
- Coordinate with technical officers and architectural coordinators to prepare construction drawings and documents.
- Work with consultants from different disciplines on design and technical matters.
- Complete other project-related duties as required.
Requirements
- A degree in Architecture, BArch, MArch, or a Graduate Diploma from a recognised and accredited institution.
- Practical ability with design and drafting tools, including AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, Revit, Enscape, Lumion, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong understanding of planning rules, building regulations, and code compliance.
- Well organised, detail-focused, and able to analyse information carefully.
- Creative thinking with sound aesthetic judgement.
- Good industry awareness and a practical, solution-oriented mindset.
- Comfortable approaching design holistically and collaborating with specialist consultants when needed.
- Self-driven, methodical, independent, and capable of managing time effectively under tight deadlines and client requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Fresh graduates may apply; candidates with relevant experience and Qualified Person credentials may be considered for an Architect role.
