Role overview
Western Union is hiring an Agent Oversight Analyst in Auckland, New Zealand to help run the agent oversight program in coordination with other Western Union entities and agents across the country. The role focuses on AML/CTF compliance support, review of agent compliance programs, and back-office follow-up on identified improvement areas.
Key responsibilities
- Support anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing compliance for new and existing Western Union agents and affiliates by assessing whether their compliance programs are effective for money services businesses.
- Review controls and compliance practices, then provide analysis and recommendations to strengthen internal processes and AML compliance arrangements for agents.
- Handle back-office tasks connected to agent oversight activities and follow up with agents that have improvement points flagged by the front office.
- Contribute to special assignments and projects as allocated by management.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a compliance-related role.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree is preferred.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Good analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Capacity to interpret industry standards, assess compliance status, and use sound judgment to form conclusions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-oriented approach.
Work arrangement
Western Union emphasizes in-person collaboration, idea sharing, and problem-solving whenever practical. For this role, there is no fixed office location to report to, but the employee will need to coordinate with their manager on any expected in-person collaboration activities.
