Role overview
The Finance department is hiring a full-time Accounts Receivable Junior / Assistant Accountant in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This position is suited to someone detail-focused who can manage receivables accurately, keep billing and collections on track, and support smooth financial operations while building positive relationships with customers.
What you will do
- Handle receivables and process incoming payments in line with company financial rules and procedures.
- Carry out routine accounting tasks such as checking, sorting, posting, and recording receivables information.
- Create and send invoices, receivable bills, and bank deposit entries.
- Match customer accounts and confirm that all payments are captured correctly.
- Track overdue balances and follow up to support timely payment collection.
- Look into billing differences or payment-related concerns and help resolve them.
- Prepare recurring financial reports and statements covering receivables activity.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing work.
- Keep customer records and payment documentation well organized and current.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in accounts receivable or in a junior accountant position.
- Good grasp of core accounting concepts, fair credit practices, and collection rules.
- Ability to accurately calculate, record, and manage accounting figures and financial data.
- Strong numerical ability and careful data entry skills, with close attention to detail.
- Practical experience with MS Office, especially Excel, and accounting tools such as SAP or similar ERP platforms.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with confident negotiation and a service-oriented approach.
- High standards of accuracy, discretion, and personal organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
Preferred attributes
- Experience gained in hospitality or a service-based business will be considered an advantage.
- Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- A proactive, analytical team player who can contribute positively to the finance function.
