About the Role
PetDesk is seeking motivated Account Executives to fuel company growth by acquiring new veterinary clinics and nurturing existing client relationships within designated territories. This remote position involves managing the entire sales lifecycle, from initiating outbound prospecting and conducting thorough discovery to delivering product demonstrations and closing deals. You will also be responsible for converting inbound leads and collaborating with the Sales Development team.
You will employ a consultative, solution-focused sales methodology, emphasizing credibility, trust, and a profound understanding of veterinary practice requirements. A key aspect of this role is to conduct in-depth discovery, educate potential clients, recommend appropriate solutions from PetDesk's product suite, and work closely with Marketing, Implementation, Customer Success, and Product teams to ensure a seamless customer journey.
This role specifically supports territories operating within the Central Time Zone, with core working hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time. Candidates must be available to work during these hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively prospect, qualify, and nurture leads through consistent outbound efforts, delivering customized product demonstrations tailored to the needs of veterinary practices.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and forecast, utilizing Salesforce and Gong Deal Boards as primary data sources to ensure visibility and support coaching.
- Lead effective sales conversations, review call notes promptly, prepare stakeholders with comprehensive context, and guide discussions to address client needs.
- Manage critical onboarding and handoff procedures, including scheduling kickoffs and facilitating payment transitions for new product sales, while leveraging automation to optimize the customer experience.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Implementation, Customer Success, and Product teams to guarantee a smooth and customer-centric transition from initial contact through to product go-live.
- Demonstrate accountability and uphold integrity by taking ownership of results, proactively resolving issues, adhering to ethical sales practices, and safeguarding customer information.
- Maintain adaptability and a growth mindset by continuously learning about product updates, market dynamics, and evolving sales techniques.
- Undertake approximately 10% travel for industry trade shows, sales kickoffs, client events, and conferences.
About You
- Possess at least 2 years of experience in full-cycle SaaS inside sales, with a proven history of managing pipelines, accurate forecasting, and achieving revenue targets.
- Proficient in CRM systems (Salesforce preferred), with meticulous attention to detail in data accuracy, follow-ups, and documentation.
- Exhibit exceptional communication skills, particularly over the phone, as the sales process is predominantly virtual, requiring clarity, professionalism, and dependable follow-through.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a commitment to learning, being receptive to feedback and taking ownership of performance.
- A natural problem-solver capable of providing clear analysis, proposing effective solutions, and ensuring consistent execution.
- A collaborative team player who contributes to collective goals and works effectively with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Implementation, and Customer Success.
- Commitment to dedicating your full time and energy exclusively to this role; the company is not seeking candidates juggling multiple sales positions.
- Experience in the veterinary industry or selling to small businesses is considered a plus.
Benefits & Perks
- Eligibility for Presidents Club for top-performing sales professionals.
- Comprehensive medical coverage for employees and dependents, with the employer covering 80-90% of costs.

- Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA).
