Role overview

This position is based at Al Najada Doha Hotel By Tivoli in Doha, Qatar. As an A/C Technician, you will be in charge of installing, maintaining, and repairing systems that control temperature and air quality. The job focuses on ensuring refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment in the hotel operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Key duties

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical refrigeration equipment such as freezers, refrigerators, ice machines, fan coil units, and chillers.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all air-conditioning and refrigeration systems in the hotel.
• Inspect the operating condition of refrigeration units and their components.
• Review and maintain door-closing mechanisms in walk-in coolers and freezers, including gaskets and latches.
• Service defrosting systems and the automation systems used in ice makers.
• Respond to maintenance calls raised by different hotel departments.
• Keep fan coil units and air-handling unit filters clean on a routine basis.
• Monitor the performance of air-conditioning and chilled-water systems.
• Work alongside engineering colleagues to identify faults in air-conditioning and refrigeration systems and support system setup.
• Maintain strict control over any release of CFCs into the atmosphere.
• Carry out overhauls on air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment and related systems.
• Check refrigeration and oil levels and coordinate major repair work when needed.
• Liaise with the Engineering Storekeeper regarding spare parts and purchases.
• Complete all tasks in line with local technical regulations and safety requirements.

Requirements

• A recognized technical or vocational qualification with documented training in the relevant field is required.
• At least 1 year of work experience in a hotel engineering department is needed.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical schematics is essential.
• Experience with VRF or VRV systems would be an added advantage.
