About the internship
This part-time on-site internship in Chennai is focused on cybersecurity operations and hands-on security support. The role is designed for candidates who want practical exposure to monitoring, defense, testing, and response work across modern enterprise environments.
Core responsibilities
- Watch for signs of security incidents, review logs, and investigate unusual network activity in a SOC-style role.
- Support the setup and upkeep of security controls such as firewalls and encryption-based protections.
- Assist with penetration testing to uncover weak points, vulnerabilities, and security gaps in systems.
- Contribute to incident response by helping identify, investigate, and contain breaches to reduce impact.
- Handle user access management and permission controls as part of Identity and Access Management processes.
- Help secure cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure by spotting and preventing configuration issues.
- Support security architecture planning and contribute to the wider cybersecurity strategy of the organization.

Requirements
- Understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, along with familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Working knowledge of security platforms and tools including SIEM solutions, firewalls, and Splunk.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Exposure to ethical hacking methods and cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST.
- Awareness of security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response workflows.
- Preferred certifications include CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or CEH.

Compensation
The internship pays ₹26,000 to ₹27,500 per month. The pay structure includes a fixed component of ₹25,000 to ₹26,000 per month and an incentive component of ₹1,000 to ₹1,500 per month. If the intern is converted into a permanent employee, the expected salary range is ₹500,000 to ₹700,000 per year.
