Role Summary

The Stewarding Associate supports the Stewarding Supervisor in cleaning food and beverage equipment, utensils, and related facilities, and in returning sanitized items to the appropriate areas for proper storage. The role may also include other duties assigned by management when needed. Strong awareness of HACCP responsibilities is required at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the rest of the Stewarding team to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues across the department.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with chefs and other food and beverage team members.
  • Build cooperative relationships with other hotel departments, particularly Culinary and the Events team.
  • Keep washing and cleaning equipment in proper condition and report any defects to the supervisor.
  • Learn and follow fire and safety procedures, especially those related to kitchen machinery and dishwashing equipment, including the use of firefighting tools in the kitchen.
  • Use detergents, cleaning agents, and chemicals safely and economically.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, and order in the assigned work areas.
  • Ensure a consistently high standard of cleanliness and hygiene through efficient work practices.
  • Attend training sessions and departmental meetings when assigned.
  • Help maintain superior daily service standards.
  • Understand the correct use and care of all equipment and use each item only for its intended purpose.
  • Follow all department policies, service procedures, and operating standards.
