Software Engineer - All Levels

Role overview

This position is for an Agile Developer responsible for analyzing, planning, validating, building, using, and maintaining software systems. The work involves applying discrete mathematics, probability, statistics, and related computer science concepts to complex software environments, and adapting approaches for use across different domains. The role also includes preparing documentation and training resources, as well as giving clear presentations and product demonstrations to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Create, update, or review software and system documentation.
• Build or integrate advanced database and data repository interfaces and queries.
• Develop algorithms that meet or improve required system performance and functional standards.
• Support the creation and execution of test procedures for software components.
• Develop solutions by reviewing performance standards, consulting with users or system engineers, studying system flows, data usage, and work processes, and investigating problem areas.
• Update existing software to fix defects and correct errors.
• Design, build, and adapt software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical modeling to estimate and assess design outcomes and consequences.

Qualifications

• Nine years of professional software engineering experience are required; certifications may be counted as one year of experience.
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university is required. Alternatively, four additional years of software engineering experience may replace the degree requirement.
• A security clearance is required for this role.
