About the company
Raft is a defense technology organization focused on delivering AI/ML and data-driven solutions for U.S. military and government customers. The company works on autonomous data fusion, agentic AI, distributed data systems, large-scale platforms, and complex application development, with an emphasis on modern design thinking and cloud-native engineering.
Role overview
In this position, you will act as a Scrum Master supporting the United States Space Force (USSF) Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance effort for the Digital Bloodhound program. The role also includes Product Owner support for the Defense Cyber Operations-Space (DCO-S) team, helping shape data-backed decisions that improve the delivery of cybersecurity capabilities for the USSF operational enterprise.
This is a high-visibility, fast-moving role for someone who can own program health end to end, balancing delivery, strategy, and stakeholder relationships. You will guide an agile software team, keep contract commitments on track, adapt to changing priorities, and help connect technical teams with customer stakeholders. The work requires comfort with ambiguity, the ability to handle several responsibilities across program, project, and product management, and enough technical understanding to learn the product deeply.
What you will do
You will lead agile delivery activities, support product planning, and help maintain momentum across a software development team. Your work will include sprint coordination, roadmap management, user-story development, and direct collaboration with DoD stakeholders to strengthen customer relationships and keep execution aligned with mission goals.
Work environment
This is a U.S.-based role. All supported programs require U.S. citizenship for employment eligibility, and all work must be carried out within the continental United States. The job is performed onsite in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Requirements
Candidates should bring extensive experience in program, project, or product management with a strong focus on agile software delivery. The role calls for proven leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to bring clarity to changing priorities while delivering consistent results.
Clearance requirements
An active Secret security clearance is required, along with the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI access.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $150,000 to $180,000 per year.
Benefits
Raft offers a competitive compensation package along with fully covered healthcare, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, flexible PTO, 11 paid holidays, education and training support, referral bonuses, and additional benefits.
Culture and mission
The company describes its vision as connecting humans and data through transparency and mission focus. Its culture emphasizes customer obsession, public-sector modernization, collaboration, innovation, and the principle of Ubuntu: “I am, because we are.” Raft also states that it is an equal opportunity employer and considers applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status, or disability status.
Additional information
Experience with DoD customers, especially within the USSF environment, is highly preferred. Other strong pluses include ownership of program financials and P&L, familiarity with data security practices, strong analytical ability, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Role expectations
- Provide agile leadership and help guide software development cycles from planning through delivery.
- Coordinate backlog prioritization with product and delivery leadership.
- Draft detailed user stories and epics with a strong understanding of end-user needs.
- Run sprint planning, reviews, and acceptance of completed work.
