Procurement Engineer

Role Overview

We are hiring Procurement Engineers for a major construction organization in Saudi Arabia. This position is based in Riyadh, Jeddah, or Dammam and is suited to procurement professionals with a strong contractor-side background. The role involves supporting large-scale building, housing, infrastructure, and utilities projects across the Kingdom.

The selected candidate should be comfortable handling the complete procurement cycle and working closely with engineering, quantity surveying, project management, and site operations teams.

Compensation and Benefits

The monthly total package is SAR 10,000 to SAR 12,000. Visa support and medical insurance are provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee procurement activities end to end, starting from material requisitions and continuing through purchase order placement and final delivery of materials.
• Examine BOQs, drawings, technical specifications, and material submittals to identify purchasing needs.
• Draft and circulate RFQs and procurement enquiries to approved vendors and subcontractors.
• Carry out technical and commercial assessments of supplier bids.
• Identify, compare, and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable commercial terms and delivery timelines.
• Work in coordination with engineering, QS, project management, and site teams.
• Track procurement schedules, vendor performance, and material deliveries to keep projects on programme.
• Maintain procurement registers, reports, and purchasing records.
• Build and sustain effective working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors in the Saudi market.
• Ensure all procurement work follows company procedures, project specifications, and commercial obligations.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• At least 8 years of procurement engineering experience in Saudi Arabia is essential.
• Background working with a construction contractor, infrastructure contractor, building contractor, MEP contractor, or construction-oriented EPC contractor is required.
• Strong exposure to procurement for building, housing, infrastructure, utilities, or mixed-use projects is expected.
• Demonstrated experience handling the full procurement workflow, including MRs, RFQs, supplier sourcing, TBE/CBE, negotiations, POs, expediting, and delivery coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret BOQs, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and material submittals.
• Good knowledge of the Saudi supplier and subcontractor landscape.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities are necessary.

Preferred Background

Candidates who have worked on residential and housing developments, commercial buildings, mixed-use developments, infrastructure projects, utilities projects, or mega projects will be viewed favorably.

Important Note

This role is specific to construction project procurement. Applicants whose background is mainly in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Pipeline, or Process EPC procurement are unlikely to be a fit for this position.
