Role overview

This freelance on-call opportunity is based in Doha, Qatar and focuses on break/fix support for enterprise infrastructure. The position calls for a seasoned Nutanix and networking support specialist who can quickly identify, troubleshoot, and close hardware, network, virtualization, and infrastructure incidents while maintaining a professional, customer-focused approach.

The assignment is marked as high priority with immediate hiring. The right person will bring strong practical experience in Nutanix technologies, networking support, and enterprise IT troubleshooting, along with fluent English communication and a valid CCNA certification.

Responsibilities

Deliver both onsite and remote break/fix support for network and infrastructure incidents.
Set up, administer, and support Nutanix HCI platforms, including AOS, AHV, and Prism.
Carry out upgrades, patching, and lifecycle tasks across supported systems.
Investigate and fix issues across hardware, software, virtualization, and networking layers.
Resolve connectivity problems involving TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching.
Support backup and disaster recovery implementations and operations.
Handle urgent incidents and service requests within defined response timelines.
Work with regional and global teams on infrastructure and cloud initiatives.
Keep clear technical notes, incident updates, and service documentation.
Maintain a professional manner with users, stakeholders, and customers at all times.

Experience and skill requirements

At least 5 years of background in infrastructure, virtualization, networking, or IT support engineering.
Hands-on exposure to the Nutanix stack, especially AOS, AHV, and Prism.
Working knowledge of VMware and/or Hyper-V environments.
Strong grasp of networking basics such as TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching.
Demonstrated ability to support break/fix work in enterprise settings.
Capability to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and network faults.
Experience with backup and disaster recovery tools or solutions.
PowerShell and/or Python scripting skills are an advantage.

Mandatory criteria

Valid CCNA certification.
At least 90% score in the induction assessment.
Fluent spoken and written English.
Ability to operate independently in customer-facing environments.
Strong professional conduct and a service-oriented attitude.

Preferred qualifications

Nutanix certification at NCP level or above.
Exposure to cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Familiarity with automation platforms like Ansible and Terraform.
Experience supporting enterprise networking setups.
