Manager (Logistics Operations)

Role overview

This position is focused on overseeing the planning and coordination of supply, transport, and medical resources so the command’s operational objectives are met efficiently, responsibly, and on time. The role supports the consistent availability of logistics services needed for both operational and administrative demands.

Key work areas

• Organise and carry out the end-to-end fulfilment of required resources and services.
• Handle inventory records, stock accounting, and stocktaking activities.
• Coordinate transport arrangements and medical service support to satisfy operational and administrative needs.
• Monitor logistics readiness information and analyse the data to aid communication and decision-making.
• Periodically assess logistics operating plans to keep them practical, current, and aligned with mission requirements.

• Working across a wide mix of stakeholders and aligning different interests to deliver the expected outcomes.
• Maintaining high standards of information security in daily logistics operations.

Profile sought

The role is suited to someone with academic training in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Operations, Marketing, or a closely related field. Experience in logistics or supply chain work is helpful, though candidates without prior experience may also be considered. The organisation is looking for someone who is committed to national defence, able to stay resilient when balancing competing priorities, and willing to propose practical solutions when issues arise. Strong communication, interpersonal ability, and confidence in dealing with diverse stakeholders are important.
