Role Purpose

The Lead – Projects Transmission Line (Site) – Tx is accountable for delivering high-voltage 765/400 kV transmission line projects successfully at site. The role focuses on meeting productivity, timeline, budget, and quality targets while ensuring disciplined site execution, strong team coordination, and strict safety adherence. It also involves working with contractors, vendors, and local authorities to remove roadblocks, maintain compliance, control costs, and support smooth project completion within organisational expectations.

Key Responsibilities

This position covers end-to-end site execution, project controls, compliance, stakeholder coordination, cost monitoring, risk reduction, and team leadership for transmission line projects.

  • Manage engineering teams effectively to ensure work is delivered on time and in line with approved Field Quality Plans, IS Codes, and CBIP manuals.
  • Plan and track schedules to achieve commissioning milestones, review progress regularly, identify critical activities, and resolve issues that may cause delays.
  • Prepare and maintain MIS reporting with accurate progress tracking and timely updates for management.
  • Spot potential execution bottlenecks early and implement practical solutions to keep the project moving smoothly.
  • Review, record, and process vendor bills accurately so approvals are completed on time and project flow is not interrupted.
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory obligations and internal safety procedures through safety programmes and periodic quality inspections at site.
  • Prevent regulatory and compliance exposure by ensuring all site activities follow legal and organisational requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety and quality training sessions for the site team to support continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate closely with vendors and contractors through regular discussions to address critical issues and reduce extra costs.
  • Work with local authorities to obtain permissions and support for shutdowns, crossings, and other sensitive project activities.
  • Build effective coordination across internal departments and external stakeholders to support smooth project delivery.
  • Track project budgets, control cash flow, and manage resource allocation to remain within financial targets.
  • Keep project costs under review and reduce avoidable expenses against approved budgets.
  • Conduct site inspections, follow rigorous safety practices, and identify hazards before they affect progress or personnel safety.
  • Anticipate risks during planning and execution so timely corrective action can reduce disruption to schedules.
  • Use project management tools and digital systems to improve visibility of progress, resources, and execution status.
  • Explore newer technologies and practical innovations to improve project outcomes and cost efficiency.
