About the role
This position will shape the future direction of hipages’ web and app front-end experience as the platform continues to expand. As the Lead Software Engineer for Front End, you will combine technical leadership with hands-on delivery, guiding front-end engineering practices and AI-enabled features while contributing as a member of the Job management team.
You will work closely with software engineers, a UX designer, a product manager and other stakeholders to build web and app products that solve real customer problems. A key part of the role is influencing the evolution of hipages’ front-end architecture and broader software architecture.
Key contribution areas
- Create maintainable, high-performing software that can grow with the business.
- Introduce and promote AI-enabled engineering methods to improve developer efficiency and identify new product opportunities.
- Design clear and well-structured APIs for both internal teams and external users.
- Support experimentation and use data insights to inform product decisions and future improvements.
- Strengthen operational quality by supporting observability, resilience, clear service targets and cost-conscious production systems.
- Help define architecture patterns and frameworks that keep the platform scalable and adaptable for the future.
What we’re looking for
- At least 7 years of relevant software engineering experience in a product-focused company or startup-style environment.
- Proven use of AI-driven engineering approaches such as agentic code generation, automated pull request reviews and AI-assisted refactoring.
- Strong background in building, implementing and maintaining React applications.
- Experience establishing front-end patterns across multiple teams.
- Comfort working in agile delivery environments such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing.
- Good understanding of current CI/CD practices.
- Exposure to modern design approaches such as Atomic Design Principles and design systems.
- Experience in cloud-based environments, with AWS preferred.
