Role overview
We are hiring a JavaScript Developer - AI Trainer to support the improvement of AI systems. You will join DataAnnotation’s coding community, which includes more than 100,000 professionals across front-end, back-end, full-stack, machine learning, and other engineering backgrounds. The work is centered on practical AI development tasks that help intelligent systems become more capable over time.
The role combines flexibility with technical depth. You may be assigned programming challenges such as building and solving difficult coding problems, developing polished applications with advanced functionality, and turning data into useful insights through analysis and visualization. Some contributors do this alongside another full-time job, while others use it as their main work and pick assignments that match their availability and goals.
How the process works
After creating an account, you will complete a short assessment that functions as the selection step for this role. If you are successful, you will receive confirmation by email and paid projects will be unlocked on the platform.
Responsibilities
- Create and solve varied programming tasks that help train AI models, with particular focus on Android-related development.
- Produce well-structured code examples along with explanations that are easy to follow.
- Review AI-generated code for correctness, speed, and readability.
- Share feedback that helps improve future AI model performance.
Requirements
- Strong command of English at a native or bilingual level.
- Preferred background in Kotlin, plus solid proficiency in at least one of these languages or frameworks: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, C, C#, C++, React, Go, Java, or Swift.
- Excellent written communication, including grammar and clarity.
- Bachelor’s degree completed or currently underway.
- Prior experience as a software developer, coder, software engineer, or programmer is an advantage.
Working arrangement and payment
This is an independent contractor role. You can choose the projects you want to take on and decide when to work. The work is done on your own computer from your home, giving you full control over your schedule.
Projects are paid hourly, beginning at $50 to $100+ per hour, and some assignments may offer higher rates. Payment is processed through PayPal, and any currency conversion from USD is handled by PayPal. You will never be asked to pay money to participate.
Eligibility
