Role Overview
We are seeking a customer-oriented and proactive IT Support Technician to join the technology function. In this position, you will deliver day-to-day technical assistance, resolve hardware and software problems, maintain systems and equipment, and help ensure staff have dependable access to the technology needed to do their jobs well. This is a full-time, entry-level to mid-level role based onsite in the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first and second point of contact for issues involving hardware, software, networks, and other system-related matters.
- Set up, configure, maintain, and repair desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other IT hardware.
- Handle support tickets, service requests, and technical questions promptly and professionally.
- Support user onboarding, including account creation, password resets, and access management.
- Investigate and fix issues related to operating systems, applications, connectivity, and devices.
- Oversee basic IT infrastructure health, network availability, and overall system performance.
- Carry out software installation, upgrades, updates, and patching tasks.
- Keep detailed records of incidents, resolutions, support activity, and IT assets.
- Help manage IT inventory, procurement, and equipment lifecycle tracking.
- Apply IT security procedures and promote cybersecurity best practices across the organization.
- Work with vendors and route complex issues to the appropriate teams when needed.
- Prepare and update IT documentation, user instructions, and knowledge base content.
Requirements
- Previous experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support, or a similar technical role is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, and common business software.
- Basic understanding of networking fundamentals, hardware diagnostics, and system administration concepts.
- Experience with Active Directory, user administration, and ticketing platforms is an added advantage.
- Awareness of cybersecurity practices, endpoint protection, and access control is beneficial.
- Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to manage priorities and handle several support requests at once.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality service.
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or similar credentials are an advantage.
