Role Overview

This is a full-time, on-site Inspector position in Lagos. The person in this role will inspect residential properties in detail to confirm safety, structural soundness, and alignment with applicable standards. The job involves recording observations, capturing photos, preparing clear reports, and keeping inspection records updated in Moveguide’s systems. The Inspector will work with internal teams to deliver dependable property information, share findings with relevant stakeholders, and help preserve the accuracy and trustworthiness of verified listings. The role also includes contributing ideas to improve inspection workflows and offering feedback on neighbourhood and dwelling conditions that strengthen the platform’s intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out thorough inspections of homes and other residential properties.
• Check building condition, including structural, electrical, plumbing, and safety-related aspects.
• Record inspection results accurately with notes, images, and structured reports.
• Enter and maintain inspection data in the company’s digital systems.
• Coordinate with internal teams to support reliable property insights.
• Communicate inspection outcomes clearly to property owners, tenants, and other stakeholders.
• Help maintain the quality, consistency, and credibility of verified property listings.
• Contribute observations and suggestions to improve inspection procedures and location intelligence.

Requirements

• Experience in property or building inspections, with the ability to assess structural, electrical, plumbing, and safety conditions.
• Sharp attention to detail and strong observational ability.
• Ability to write clear, accurate reports and document findings properly.
• Comfort using digital tools for data entry, photography, and reporting through mobile and web applications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of local housing standards, safety rules, and the Lagos real estate environment is an added advantage.
• Ability to work independently on-site, manage time well, and handle several inspections in a busy setting.
• Training in construction, building technology, civil engineering, or a similar technical/vocational area; inspection or safety certifications are a plus.
• Legal authorization to work in Lagos and willingness to travel within the city for inspections.
