General Service Technician

About the Role

Sun Auto Tire & Service’s Tire Outlet brand is a full-service auto repair provider, not just a tire shop. The business handles everything from tire replacement and oil changes to air conditioning-related work and broader tire services. Customers rely on the team to diagnose and repair vehicles correctly on the first visit.

In this position, you will handle routine, non-technical vehicle services such as oil changes, tire and wheel work, alignments, fluid flushes, and similar tasks. You will work with ASE-certified automotive technicians and receive hands-on training designed to help you progress in your automotive career.

This opportunity is aimed at candidates who want to grow into an ASE-certified automotive technician role and build a long-term career in the field.

Compensation

Pay is $15 to $18 per hour, based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform state safety and emissions inspections in a compliant and ethical manner, following company and state requirements.
• Carry out tire mounting and removal, wheel balancing, and tire rotation services.
• Complete oil changes and other basic maintenance tasks as assigned by the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• While working on routine services, notice any visible maintenance needs or safety issues and report them to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Use the company’s multi-point inspection process and/or repair order system to document the vehicle’s condition accurately.
• Keep the shop clean and orderly, including the service bays, tire storage areas, showroom, and exterior surroundings.
• Follow all safety procedures and escalate any safety concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Availability to work at least five days per week, including Saturdays.
