About the Role
National University Health System is developing Tengah General and Community Hospital (TGCH), a modern healthcare campus located in Tengah Forest Town. The hospital is envisioned as a forward-looking facility offering a broad mix of clinical services, including emergency care, inpatient care, rehabilitation, and outpatient specialist services. It is expected to be completed in the early 2030s.
As part of the NUHS cluster, TGCH is being shaped as a hospital closely connected to the surrounding community and natural environment. The organisation values respect, recognition, and a people-centred culture, with a focus on creating a supportive setting where teams can contribute meaningfully to patient care.
This role offers the chance to help build a hospital of the future — a healthcare environment designed to work in harmony with its surroundings.
Role Overview
This Facilities Management Engineering position is focused heavily on planning for a new hospital that will take around six years to complete. You will work closely with the Hospital Development team, MOHH Design team, Medical Planner, and end users on all FM-related aspects of the project. After the hospital opens, you will transition into the FM team responsible for operationalising the facility. You may also be assigned to the site team from time to time.
Responsibilities
- Assist the FM Site Lead and Senior Engineers in day-to-day coordination and execution.
- Take part in meetings related to design, interfaces, technical issues, and planning discussions.
- Stay informed about new FM and healthcare technologies, including automation and robotics, for potential use in the hospital.
- Handle secretariat duties and related coordination work.
- Provide support to Group Facilities Management activities whenever needed.
- Carry out additional tasks assigned by management.
Requirements
- A degree in Facility Management, Building Sciences, or a closely related discipline, or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in building and facilities maintenance or a similar area.
- Prior exposure to healthcare settings is strongly preferred.
- Strong command of written and spoken English.
- Comfortable working under pressure in a busy environment and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing or unclear situations.
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
- Able to interpret architectural and M&E drawings.
- Knowledge of BCA Green Mark certification and Green.gov.sg requirements will be an added advantage.
Additional Information
This position is based in Singapore and is a full-time, on-site role. The hospital project is currently in development, with completion expected in the early 2030s. The role is centred on FM planning during the design and development stage, followed by operational support after the hospital is launched. The candidate may also be attached to the site team when required.
The source did not state salary, number of openings, or any explicit benefits/perks.
Culture and Mission
NUHS describes TGCH as a people-focused initiative built around respect, recognition, teamwork, and service. The project aims to combine healthcare delivery with thoughtful integration into the forest-town environment, creating a unique healing space for the community.
