Role Purpose

The Customer Development Executive will be responsible for expanding the reach and depth of Colgate-Palmolive products within the assigned zone. The role focuses on executing customer development plans effectively so that sales and distribution targets for the zone are met.

Role Context

This position requires close coordination with stockists, Distributor Sales Representatives, and Pilot Sales Representatives to ensure customer development plans and promotional schemes are implemented smoothly across the territory.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage distribution by strengthening trade coverage and route execution.
• Identify new markets and accounts and bring them under direct servicing on a regular basis.
• Add specialty wholesalers to the business network where relevant.
• Classify stores in the route list correctly based on the applicable RE.
• Support SSM efforts to reduce the number of non-purchasing outlets.
• Use activations effectively to improve sales outcomes.
• Improve sales call productivity and efficiency.
• Use selling stories, range selling, and objection handling to drive conversion.
• Improve in-store execution by prioritizing accounts for visibility, including coverage of the top two outlets in every route.
• Track market developments and gather publicly available competitive intelligence on products, activities, schemes, and other changes.
• Use data to guide business performance and decision-making.
• Set clear objectives for market visits and review performance of sales associates and PSRs against plans.
• Review stockist performance against targets and expectations.
• Train and develop sales associates on new products, toothbrush assortment, and medical store focus including PASSION understanding.
• Coach and motivate sales associates so they can use company benefits through SSMs effectively.
• Identify field issues faced by sales associates and support resolution.
• Run productive monthly and weekly meetings with sales associates.
• Prepare reports and share information as requested by the Area Manager.
• Build strong relationships with stockists and the trade, especially key wholesalers, to support business growth.
• Share success stories and communicate programs that help improve off-take.
• Work collaboratively to grow the category and resolve business issues.
