Role Summary
This full-time, on-site position in Abu Dhabi is for a Behavior Therapy Technician who will assist in carrying out individualized behavior intervention plans under the direction of licensed or certified clinicians. The role focuses on helping individuals learn new abilities, decrease difficult behaviors, and build independence in everyday routines.
Key Duties
- Work directly with clients to support skill-building and encourage more independent daily functioning.
- Implement behavior support strategies as outlined in individualized intervention plans and under clinical supervision.
- Track behavioral progress through accurate data collection and maintain clear session documentation.
- Share relevant notes, observations, and updates with the wider clinical team.
- Partner with families and caregivers to support continuity of care and therapeutic progress.
- Adhere to safety procedures, ethical standards, and confidentiality requirements at all times.
- Take part in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training activities.
- Help maintain a positive, supportive, person-centered therapy setting.
Qualifications and Experience
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening abilities for working with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Capacity to carry out structured behavior plans consistently while adapting to client needs under supervision.
- Careful attention to detail with basic skills in observation, data recording, and documentation.
- Patience, emotional resilience, and practical problem-solving skills when handling challenging behaviors.
- Strong respect for ethics, privacy, and cultural awareness in a diverse healthcare environment.
- High school diploma is required; a diploma or degree in psychology, special education, behavior analysis, or a similar field is preferred.
- Experience in behavior therapy, special education, mental health, or a comparable support role is a plus.
- Readiness to complete relevant training and certification, such as Registered Behavior Technician or an equivalent credential where applicable.
- Must be able to work on-site in Abu Dhabi and participate in activities that involve standing, moving, and engaging with clients.
