Company Overview
Leo Burnett, part of Publicis Communications, is one of Singapore and Asia’s most energetic creative agency networks. Its philosophy is centred on Humankind — the belief that creative thinking can shape behaviour and drive positive change. The team values bold ideas, continuous growth, and collaboration across many creative disciplines.
The agency describes itself as a community of specialists, problem-solvers and idealists who welcome challenge, believe strong ideas can come from anywhere, and are committed to improving every day.
Role Summary
As an Art Director, you will create visually powerful work for major consumer brands, especially across social and fast-moving digital environments such as feeds, stories, short-form video and emerging channels. The role calls for social-first thinking, a strong sense of craft, and the ability to design ideas that encourage participation, not just awareness.
You should be comfortable developing everything from bold campaign systems to always-on, reactive content, while also understanding how those ideas can expand into larger integrated campaigns. The work demands attention to detail, a clear understanding of how people browse, scroll and share, and the ability to shape visuals for today’s media habits.
Key Responsibilities
- Create original and memorable creative ideas from client briefs, goals and business objectives.
- Ensure every visual element is placed with the right context, purpose and meaning within each assignment.
- Develop concepts that satisfy both client needs and internal standards for creative quality and professionalism.
- Show, explain and refine work with senior creative leaders, account teams, planning leads and management.
- Handle several projects at once, from early concept work through final delivery, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
- Work closely with account, planning and creative colleagues to produce fresh and standout work.
- Contribute to and sometimes lead brainstorming and idea-generation sessions.
- Use AI tools, current trends and modern creative workflows confidently and naturally.
What We Value in Our People
- Strong belief in creativity as a force for change, combined with an understanding that meaningful progress happens through teamwork and diverse perspectives.
- A culture where ideas are treated as valuable work, with your voice and thinking expected to be heard, respected and protected.
- Willingness to be challenged and stretched, while also being supported, encouraged and recognised by the team.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Approximately 5 to 7 years of professional experience, supported by a portfolio that demonstrates brave thinking and strong craft.
- A curious mindset, a love of learning and a deep commitment to creative practice.
- Ability to think like an artist across every surface, channel and medium, especially social and digital platforms.
- Recognition through awards is an advantage, although a strong drive to achieve excellence is equally valued.
- Solid understanding of social media environments, online media terminology and relevant technologies.
- Comfort working under pressure in a fast-paced creative setting and meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across different functions and seniority levels.
- Working knowledge of the latest computer-based design software.
- Willingness to work beyond regular hours and travel overnight for shoots and post-production sessions when required.
- Well-organised, disciplined and able to stay calm while delivering to deadlines.
