Role Overview

KBR’s National Security Solutions group delivers advanced engineering and technology support to intelligence and national security customers. In this technical librarian position, you will help safeguard mission-critical information and support work that contributes directly to national security outcomes.

This is a contingent role and will only proceed if the contract is awarded.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Technical Librarian, you will manage technical information resources and make sure they are organized, current, and easy to access for users who depend on them.

Oversee technical holdings such as books, journals, and digital resources.
Organize, classify, and maintain technical documents and archived material.
Help users locate the information they need and support technical research requests.
Work with library systems and databases to keep records accurate and usable.
Apply quality control practices so materials, records, and related work meet required standards.
Support coordination and communication across the team and with other stakeholders to keep work aligned and informed.
Take on additional duties as needed.

Candidate Profile

You are a detail-oriented and organized professional who enjoys managing information and supporting research. You are comfortable handling both physical and digital collections, working with library tools, and keeping complex information well structured. Your service mindset, technical awareness, and ability to work accurately make you a strong fit for a mission-focused environment.

Requirements

You must be either a U.S. citizen or an Australian citizen.
You must already hold a U.S. TS/SCI clearance with Counterintelligence Polygraph or an Australian PV clearance.
An associate degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a closely related discipline is required.
You should have at least 3 years of experience managing a technical library or a comparable information resource environment.
Strong organizational ability and IT proficiency are essential.
You need strong verbal and written communication skills, along with good interpersonal skills.
Careful attention to detail is important for accurate service delivery and compliance.
You should be adaptable to changing tools, workflows, and priorities.
Solid judgment and decision-making ability are needed to resolve issues quickly under pressure.

Location and Work Arrangement

The position is based in Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia, and requires 100% onsite attendance.
