Role overview
This position oversees the daily coordination and operational support for remote broadcast activity. The supervisor partners with operational leaders, producers, coordinators, and specialists to keep planning, logistics, vendor coordination, credentialing, equipment tracking, and travel arrangements running smoothly for live sports production.
What you'll do
- Serve as the main point of contact for mobile unit partners, technical vendors, and freelancers so event plans and support materials remain accurate.
- Coordinate with crewing, production, and operations leadership to support both on-site and remote event execution.
- Oversee inventory, storage, and upkeep of production equipment used across the sports season.
- Keep planning files, team trackers, and scheduling systems current and accurate.
- Process and follow up on vendor payments, invoices, purchase orders, and freelancer timecards with finance and operations teams.
- Take part in weekly meetings and cross-functional planning sessions.
- Help onboard and train new coordinators and seasonal employees.
- Provide live support during broadcasts and resolve issues related to travel, equipment, or staffing as they arise.
- Ensure all operations are aligned with company and departmental rules, including safety and compliance requirements.
Required experience and qualifications
The role calls for at least 3 years of experience in sports media operations, broadcast logistics, or live event production. Candidates should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in fast-moving settings. Experience in collaborative team environments and strong problem-solving ability are important. Familiarity with production compounds, vendor coordination, and event logistics is also needed. The position requires proficiency with SmartSheet and the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Travel is required, and the schedule may include weekends and holidays.
Preferred background
Additional value will be given to candidates who have supported remote sports broadcasts before, understand internal ESPN systems such as Playbook, NCS, and SAP, and communicate clearly in both writing and speech.
Education
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Sports Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
Compensation and benefits
The hiring range for this role in Bristol, Connecticut is $105,100 to $140,900 per year. Actual pay may vary based on internal equity, location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total package may also include a bonus and/or long-term incentive units, along with medical, financial, and other benefits depending on the level and position offered.
