Overview
This opening is for a staff engineer role with a US-based product company client in Gurgaon. The position is based at Phase-1, IT/ITES SEZ, International Techpark (ITPG), Gurgaon, and is intended for candidates with 8 to 12 years of experience in software testing across automation and manual testing.
Role Summary
The selected professional will help shape test strategy, build and improve automation coverage, carry out manual and non-functional testing, and contribute to quality engineering efforts across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Create verification and validation plans that align with SDLC expectations, timelines, and available resources.
- Design test cases that accurately validate product and software requirements.
- Build, maintain, and extend automation test frameworks.
- Carry out manual testing, including exploratory and structured test execution, as well as defect verification.
- Take part in agile meetings and help with test planning and effort estimation.
- Drive ongoing improvements in automation methods and broader QA processes.
- Perform non-functional testing focused on areas such as accuracy, reliability, and performance.
- Assist other teams during the research and early development stages of products.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
- 8 to 12 years of experience in software testing with both automation and manual exposure.
- Practical experience developing automation frameworks and scripts using Python and Java.
- Working knowledge of tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber, or Pytest.
- Understanding of software configuration management, version control, and defect tracking systems.
- Strong grasp of SDLC concepts, testing approaches, defect lifecycle, test design, and risk analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- ISTQB certification and standard agile certifications such as CSM or PSM are preferred.
- Exposure to test equipment and testing practices involving Linux, Qt/QML, and Squish is an advantage.
- Experience working with regulatory and compliance requirements in the SDLC is desirable.
