About the role
CORDE is looking for a Spray Operator to join its Parks and Reserves team in Rolleston, Canterbury. The position focuses on precise and efficient spraying, controlling vegetation, managing noxious weeds, supporting native planting, and helping maintain parks and reserves across Selwyn.
This is a hands-on outdoor role suited to someone who enjoys visible results from their work and wants to contribute to well-kept community spaces. You will be part of a team responsible for keeping parks and reserves in excellent condition for public enjoyment.
What you will do
- Carry out accurate spraying work and vegetation control.
- Support the management of noxious weeds.
- Assist with native planting activities.
- Help with the ongoing upkeep of parks and reserves in Selwyn.
- Work as part of a team to maintain high-quality outdoor spaces.
What you will bring
- A full Class 1 driver licence is essential.
- Experience operating manual vehicles is preferred.
- GROWSAFE Standard certification is an advantage.
- A Level 3 qualification in Horticulture is desirable.
- A dependable, self-driven approach with strong attention to detail.
- Good awareness of current health and safety practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work without close supervision.
