Role Overview
The Senior Technical Office Engineer will oversee commercial and technical coordination for development projects, with accountability for cost management, tendering, contract administration, and financial control. The role is centered on maintaining accuracy in project costs and ensuring all contractual processes are handled in line with requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and validate BOQs, project cost estimates, and tender documentation.
- Assess contractor quotations from both a technical and financial perspective.
- Handle contractor billing, payment processing, claims, and variation requests.
- Build cash flow projections and produce cost monitoring reports.
- Act as a liaison among consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Examine shop drawings and check that they match project specifications.
- Track budgets throughout the project and anticipate financial outcomes.
- Maintain adherence to contract terms and cost control procedures.
Requirements
Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline. A certification in contracts or cost management is preferred.
The position requires 8 to 12 years of experience in technical office, cost control, or quantity surveying functions. Background in commercial, residential, or villa developments is preferred.
Applicants must have a solid understanding of contracting, tendering, cost control systems, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Familiarity with FIDIC and related contractual frameworks is also expected.
Strong Excel capability and experience with cost control tools are important, along with sharp analytical judgment, financial evaluation ability, and the skill to interpret contract clauses and commercial risk. Good coordination, negotiation, organization, attention to detail, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage several projects and deadlines are also key.
