Role overview

Amrize Canada is seeking a Scale Attendant for its Lower Mainland operations in the Coquitlam area. This role focuses on coordinating truck flow, weighing and ticketing outgoing loads, and helping maintain strict compliance with safety requirements across fill sites and haul truck operations.

The position suits someone who performs well in a busy setting, values precision, and can keep up with fast-moving operational work. Strong communication, organization, and computer skills are important because the role involves working closely with dispatch so that deliveries are on time, complete, and documented accurately. In addition to scale duties, the job includes general office support and day-to-day administrative tasks.

Key duties

• Weigh trucks and record tare information accurately.
• Input material and dump tickets into the system without errors.
• Maintain tracking records for materials and dump loads.
• Handle cash sales processing.
• Track, balance, and report on cash-on-delivery sales.
• Send tracking sheets and other documents to customers by fax when needed.
• Sort and route incoming mail.
• Support field-level risk assessments and record contractor hours.
• Keep office supplies stocked and assist with general administrative work as needed.
• Follow and promote health, safety, and environmental standards in all work areas and help reinforce a safety-first culture.

Work requirements and conditions

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where speed, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential. The successful candidate should be comfortable learning quickly, handling multiple tasks, and working under pressure. Computer literacy is required, including the use of Microsoft Office, SAP, Google Drive, and APEX ticketing.

The role involves travel to work sites in Coquitlam, Abbotsford, Mission, and Pitt Meadows. A vehicle is required for this travel. Training begins as soon as possible, mainly on Saturdays with occasional weekday sessions to cover leave. Regular shifts are during the day from Monday to Friday, with some weekend and night shift work expected.

Education, experience, and other requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience in the construction industry is considered an advantage, especially in flagging, scaling, truck ticketing, or weigh scaling. A valid driver’s license is required, and first aid certification is an added asset.

Applicants should have a basic understanding of products and industry terminology, strong time-management skills, good organization, self-motivation, and a clear grasp of how haul truck logistics work. The role also requires strict compliance with all safety procedures and approved personal protective equipment, including respirators. Anyone required to wear a respirator must be clean-shaven where the seal meets the face to pass fit testing.
