Job overview
Menorah Park is looking for a committed, well-informed Dietitian to support its healthcare team. The role calls for someone with a solid foundation in dietetics who can create nutrition care plans based on each patient’s unique needs.
This position involves supporting patients across multiple care environments, including acute care, geriatrics, and long-term care settings. The dietitian will apply knowledge of physiology and diagnostic assessment to help improve health outcomes through practical nutrition strategies.
Key responsibilities
You will assess patients’ nutritional needs, design individualized care plans, and follow up on progress to ensure plans remain effective. The role also requires close coordination with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals so patient care is delivered in a coordinated way.
In addition, you will educate and counsel patients on healthy eating, weight management, and sustainable lifestyle changes. You will also keep accurate records in the facility’s systems, stay current on developments in dietetics, and contribute to quality improvement efforts within dietary services.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or a closely related subject is required, while a master’s degree is considered an advantage. The candidate must hold a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential.
Prior experience in acute care, geriatric care, or long-term care is strongly preferred. You should have a strong understanding of physiology as it relates to nutrition, along with the ability to carry out diagnostic evaluation for nutritional assessment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are important, as the role includes educating people from different backgrounds. Experience using electronic health record systems is also needed. A genuine interest in promoting healthier lifestyles through nutrition is essential.
Schedule and work arrangement
This is a full-time, in-person role. The expected schedule is 40 hours per week, typically across 8-hour shifts. Working days may include Monday through Friday, holidays, on-call coverage, and weekends as needed.
Pay and benefits
The compensation range is $36.00 to $40.00 per hour.
Benefits include 401(k), 401(k) matching, medical, dental and vision insurance, disability coverage, flexible scheduling, life insurance, and paid time off.
Additional information
The main medical specialty for this role is geriatrics. Applicants with a criminal record are encouraged to apply.
Work location: In person in Syracuse, NY.
