Role overview
Reach Active Limited is hiring a Quality Control Advisor to support stronger quality performance across project teams and help employees apply the company’s operating framework more effectively. The role focuses on improving quality management, digital record keeping, and compliance practices so that work is delivered right the first time, with fewer errors, recalls, defects, and rework.
This position is based across multiple sites in Ireland and reports to the HSQE Manager. The working pattern is 45 hours per week.
Key duties
- Help teams build a better practical understanding of the company’s operational and quality systems.
- Support improvements in digital documentation, record keeping, and compliance processes.
- Promote a culture of doing work correctly the first time across all projects.
- Coach, mentor, and guide project teams to strengthen quality behaviours and standards.
- Carry out internal audits as scheduled by the HSQE Manager and in line with ISO requirements.
- Review projects, activities, and processes to check compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare clear, accurate audit reports and communicate the findings to the relevant stakeholders.
- Assist with corrective and preventive actions when issues are identified.
- Work with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to maintain consistent quality performance.
- Encourage learning, knowledge sharing, and good-quality working practices.
- Use communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to positively influence behaviour.
- Visit construction and utility sites across the Island of Ireland to observe and support quality and safe working practices.
- Spot quality issues early and help ensure they are resolved quickly.
Experience and qualifications
- Strong communication ability, with confidence engaging and influencing people at all levels.
- Good analytical thinking, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems and associated documentation.
- Ability to train, mentor, and coach others effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Practical operational background in the construction and utilities sector.
- Ability to work on your own while keeping records accurate and up to date.
- Comfortable using Microsoft tools and other IT software.
- IRCA-trained Internal Auditor, or currently working toward this qualification, with a good understanding of audit methods and industry rules.
- Experience applying ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Knowledge of quality management principles, risk-based thinking, and process-based auditing.
- Understanding of sector technologies and regulatory requirements relevant to construction and utilities.
- A recognised Quality Practitioner qualification is preferred, though equivalent experience will also be considered.
Additional information
The role involves travel to sites throughout Ireland and may occasionally require overnight stays.
Because of the nature of the work, you may also need to cover out-of-hours work, including weekends and, on some occasions, night shifts. A reasonable willingness to support these requirements is expected.
