Role overview
MECCA’s Core Technology team is responsible for the enterprise and operational platforms that keep day-to-day work moving and support major business change. Within the Technology Delivery function and reporting to the Test Lead, the SAP QA Analyst helps deliver dependable results across strategic projects and business-as-usual releases by applying consistent, fit-for-purpose testing practices.
This position is centered on practical test execution across system, integration, and end-to-end testing, along with support for user acceptance testing. You will work alongside technology, delivery, and business partners to uncover defects, raise issues early, and use risk-based and exploratory testing methods where they add value. The role also supports ongoing improvements in testing methods, including selective use of automation, and helps strengthen release confidence across MECCA’s technology environment.
Key responsibilities
- Examine business, functional, and non-functional requirements and make sure acceptance criteria are specific, measurable, and aligned with quality expectations.
- Create, update, and run test cases and test data to cover functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, and user acceptance testing, using risk-based and exploratory approaches when appropriate.
- Log, track, and manage defects, including triage, prioritisation, and prompt escalation of quality concerns and delivery risks.
- Assist the Test Lead with planning, coordination, and reporting for testing work across projects and BAU releases, including test plans, test summaries, and status updates.
- Keep requirements, test cases, and defects connected through clear traceability, including supporting artefacts such as a Requirements Traceability Matrix.
- Work with business, delivery, and technology stakeholders to provide testing input, clarify requirements, validate solutions, and support User Acceptance Testing.
- Take part in delivery forums and contribute testing estimates, planning input, and commitment discussions.
- Help improve testing practices, tools, and standards so quality approaches remain consistent and practical across MECCA.
- Contribute to post-implementation reviews by identifying defect trends, outcomes, and improvement opportunities.
- Support and guide other QA Analysts where needed, promoting teamwork and shared capability.
- Assist with the development, execution, and upkeep of automated test suites and frameworks to support regression testing and CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with the Test Lead and broader team to strengthen automation capability through scope definition, prioritisation, knowledge sharing, and uplift of automation practices.
Requirements
- Direct, hands-on SAP experience is essential.
- Proven background as a QA Analyst in complex systems or enterprise settings, including integrations between internal environments and vendor platforms.
- Experience planning, executing, and reporting on system, integration, end-to-end, and regression testing.
- Solid understanding of testing, development, and delivery models, with the ability to apply testing in a practical way based on business needs and risk.
- Comfortable using test and defect management tools such as Jira, Zephyr, or comparable platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, including identifying risks, investigating issues, and contributing to workable solutions.
- Capability to analyse and validate data using SQL or similar tools to support testing and defect investigation.
- Clear communicator who can build effective relationships with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Able to balance multiple priorities, work to deadlines, and adapt in fast-moving delivery environments.
- Collaborative and proactive mindset with a focus on learning, improvement, and quality outcomes.
Benefits and culture
- Professional development programs and a strong digital learning offering.
- Health and wellbeing initiatives.
- Reward and recognition programs.
- Access to bonus and incentive programs.
- Generous employee discount for you and your immediate family, plus a product allowance, subject to company policy.
