Role Overview
The Roanoke, Virginia team is looking for a Project Manager to coordinate sprinkler or integrated systems projects from planning through execution, while keeping timelines, budgets, safety, and compliance on track.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan project work in practical stages so subcontractors can meet budget and deadline requirements.
- Partner with sales and design teams on project scope, staffing needs, and change orders.
- Review contract paperwork and work with subcontractors and general contractors to collect project details.
- Identify project schedules and communicate key dates to the internal team, including design start, listing, and POJ milestones.
- Manage project documentation, including ASIs, RFIs, change orders, subcontracts, and purchase orders, while keeping an eye on costs and profitability.
- Make sure all work follows company standards and relevant local, state, and federal rules, including fire code, NFPA, building, and safety requirements.
- Enforce safety practices and risk management procedures at job sites.
- Collaborate with estimators and designers to gather inputs needed for sprinkler drawings, hydraulic calculations, seismic brace calculations, and material/equipment schedules.
- Submit stock lists for fabrication, review fabrication quotations, and arrange any extra materials required for installation.
- Coordinate installation start dates and material deliveries with installation superintendents.
Experience & Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of project management experience in sprinkler systems or integrated systems.
- Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to pass background screening.
- Reliable transportation and a valid state driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record are required for company vehicle use.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or SprinkCAD is preferred, though not mandatory.
