Role overview
This permanent Porter/Driver position is graded at Band 2 and is based on a 37.5-hour working week. The role supports portering activity across Tameside Hospital, with an emphasis on safe, reliable service delivery and careful handling of equipment.
What the job involves
You will be part of a team delivering a high standard of portering throughout the hospital, while following the relevant procedures and working to health and safety requirements. The post also involves protecting the safety of patients, staff, and members of the public at all times.
In addition to team-based work, you may be asked to work independently when required, carrying out duties in line with approved policies and procedures under the supervision of the Portering Supervisor.
Working style and approach
The role calls for someone with a courteous, supportive manner and a considerate approach when dealing with patients and their families. A strong commitment to service quality and safe working practices is essential.
