About the Role

AppViewX is hiring a Payroll Specialist to support global payroll activities from its Coimbatore office. The role centers on accurate payroll execution, statutory compliance, reporting, and coordination with internal teams and external payroll partners. You will work across India payroll as well as payroll support for the US, UK, Canada, and EOR arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

India Payroll Operations

  • Run monthly India payroll end to end with accuracy and punctuality.
  • Check and confirm payroll inputs such as joining, exits, salary updates, promotions, incentives, commissions, variable pay, leave changes, arrears, tax declarations, and benefit modifications.
  • Compute earnings, deductions, statutory payments, and employee benefit amounts correctly.
  • Work closely with HR and Finance to ensure payroll is processed correctly and on schedule.
  • Review full and final settlement details from HR, including leave encashment, gratuity, recoveries, and separation payouts.
  • Validate payroll output, match reports, and resolve variances or errors.
  • Handle employee questions related to taxes and provide timely answers.
  • Support annual compensation updates, bonus runs, and commission validation.

US, UK, Canada, and EOR Payroll / HRIS Administration

  • Assist with payroll operations across the US, UK, Canada, and EOR setups by working with external payroll vendors, EOR partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Check vendor payroll reports for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with approved inputs.
  • Track payroll schedules, submission cut-offs, approvals, funding needs, and delivery milestones across countries.
  • Help administer payroll-linked benefits such as 401(k), pension, health and welfare plans, and other country-specific programs.
  • Support compliance requirements such as employee data reporting, benefit deductions, statutory contributions, and payroll audits.
  • Coordinate with vendors and HR to update records for employee movements such as hiring, separation, pay changes, and benefit enrollments after HRIS integration.
  • Keep employee master data current in Paychex, Paybook, or similar payroll systems.
  • Carry out periodic data audits to ensure records remain accurate, complete, and compliant.
  • Support year-end activities including reconciliations, tax filings, payroll system updates, and validation of deductions and employer contributions tied to benefits.
  • Maintain payroll documentation, process controls, and employee records in line with company policy and audit expectations.

Compliance, Reporting, and Finance Support

  • Ensure payroll activity complies with relevant tax, labor, social security, and statutory regulations.
  • Manage payroll-linked statutory obligations such as TDS, PF, NPS, PT, LWF, gratuity, and other applicable employee benefit programs.
  • Support monthly and annual filings, remittances, and reconciliations.
  • Assist with year-end tax work including tax calculations, proof validation, Form 16 creation and distribution, and employee tax support.
  • Support global compliance work for retirement plans, pension plans, statutory deductions, employer contributions, and country-specific payroll reporting.
  • Coordinate global year-end reporting such as W-2, P60, T4, or equivalent local filings through payroll providers.
  • Assist internal and external audits related to payroll, benefits, and statutory compliance.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and backup schedules.
  • Coordinate payroll funding needs and support salary/statutory payments through banking systems.
  • Generate payroll, headcount, statutory, and management reports as needed.
  • Look for ways to strengthen payroll controls, automation, process quality, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
  • 4 to 6 years of payroll processing experience in India; experience with multinational organizations and global payroll is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Indian payroll rules, labor legislation, tax requirements, and statutory compliance.
  • Experience dealing with payroll vendors, EOR providers, and payroll software platforms.
  • Hands-on exposure to Paybooks, Paychex, or comparable payroll tools.
  • Good understanding of payroll accounting, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Excel.
  • Exposure to ERP platforms such as NetSuite is an advantage.
