Role overview
Northern Star Resources is looking for a Payroll Officer to join its Corporate Office in Subiaco on a permanent, full-time basis. The position runs Monday to Friday and reports to the Payroll Manager. In this role, you will help ensure employee records are accurate, maintained in line with legal obligations, and aligned with the company’s quality systems.

Key duties
- Work with the shared services payroll team to reconcile payroll information.
- Prepare, check, and process payroll transactions on a fortnightly basis as well as for ad hoc runs.
- Confirm that payroll is paid correctly, complies with relevant legislation, and is delivered on time.
- Keep employee personnel data current and accurate.
- Handle end-of-pay and end-of-month activities, including general ledger and superannuation reconciliations.
- Deal with complex payroll questions and resolve them quickly and correctly.
- Partner with Payroll, HR, and Finance teams to identify and support improvements to payroll processes.
What you need
The ideal candidate will bring 2 to 3 years of payroll experience, practical exposure to SAP Payroll and SuccessFactors, a solid understanding of payroll legislation, the ability to work to tight deadlines, and intermediate Microsoft Excel capability. Strong attention to detail, accurate data handling, good communication and interpersonal skills, and the confidence to work independently are also important. Experience with SuccessFactors is desirable. A current C Class driver’s licence is required.
