Role Summary
This contract opportunity is for an OT Cybersecurity Engineer to support operational technology security needs for a client in the petrochemical sector in Riyadh. The role focuses on safeguarding industrial control systems, raising the overall security maturity of OT environments, supporting compliance efforts, and contributing to audit readiness.
Core Responsibilities
- Deploy and maintain cybersecurity controls for OT and ICS environments across industrial sites.
- Carry out hardening activities for OT infrastructure, including SCADA, DCS, and PLC platforms.
- Locate, evaluate, and address security weaknesses in operational technology systems.
- Assist with alignment to the OTCC cybersecurity compliance framework.
- Participate in internal OT audits and support security gap reviews.
- Work closely with IT, engineering, and operations groups to enable secure integration between systems.
- Track OT security events and help with response, containment, and mitigation actions.
- Prepare and upkeep OT security documentation, compliance evidence, and risk logs.
- Follow applicable requirements and standards such as IEC 62443, NIST, and relevant Saudi regulations.
Required Background
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Engineering, or a similar discipline. The role calls for 3–7+ years of experience in OT/ICS cybersecurity, ideally in petrochemical, oil and gas, or manufacturing environments. Practical knowledge of SCADA, DCS, PLCs, industrial networks, system hardening, vulnerability management tools, and OT security monitoring solutions is essential. Familiarity with OTCC compliance expectations in Saudi Arabia is also important, along with experience supporting audits and compliance assessments. Relevant certifications may include GICSP, CISSP, CISM, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor. A strong grasp of industrial protocols such as Modbus, OPC, and DNP3 is expected, together with solid analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation abilities.
Additional Requirements
The engineer should be comfortable working with multi-disciplinary teams in critical infrastructure settings and be able to operate effectively in environments where reliability, compliance, and secure integration are essential.
