Role overview
As a Direct-Entry Sergeant, you will join the operational backbone of the Central Narcotics Bureau and help safeguard Singapore from the harms of drug abuse. The role calls for teamwork, fast judgement, adaptability and the practical knowledge needed to handle demanding field situations. You will take part in enforcement activity, oversee drug offenders, support anti-drug operations and contribute to preventive education efforts that help keep Singapore drug-free.
Key duties
- Participate in field operations to detain drug offenders.
- Observe, collect and build intelligence and evidence related to drug offenders.
- Carry out investigations to support prosecution of drug offenders in court.
- Manage the supervision process for drug offenders and engage the public, including families of suspected offenders, to explain the bureau’s policies and procedures.
- Deliver preventive drug education sessions and share enforcement strategies with youths and organisations.
Eligibility and selection
- Applicants must be Singapore Citizens.
- Normal colour vision is required.
- Male applicants must have completed National Service and hold medical fitness status PES A or B1 L1.
- Applicants should be in good physical and mental health.
- Shortlisted candidates may need to complete a medical declaration and/or go through additional assessment.
