Role overview
Hawthorne Residential Partners is seeking a reliable, self-driven, and practical maintenance professional who enjoys keeping residential communities clean, safe, and welcoming. This position offers the chance to develop new skills, learn additional trades, and grow into a long-term career while working with a supportive team.
As a Maintenance Technician II, you will work on service requests independently, contribute to preventive upkeep, and help maintain the community’s daily operations. The role requires HVAC certification and working knowledge of routine repair tasks.
Education, experience, and certifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Two years of apartment maintenance experience is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- EPA/HVAC certification is required.
- CPO certification is considered an added advantage.
Key duties
- Assess, troubleshoot, and complete repair and maintenance tasks promptly and professionally.
- Ensure service requests are finished according to Hawthorne’s quality standards.
- Restore vacant apartments to move-in-ready condition following company requirements.
- Support pool maintenance and cleaning activities.
- Carry out preventive maintenance based on company policy and procedures.
- Perform daily upkeep of the building and shared spaces.
- Help keep outdoor areas clean and orderly by removing litter, debris, and pet waste.
- Maintain the maintenance shop in an organized state so inventory can be checked quickly.
- Build and preserve positive working relationships with residents, coworkers, vendors, and company staff.
- Represent the company with a courteous, professional, and service-oriented attitude.
- Participate in the scheduled on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.
- Follow OSHA requirements and company safety standards at all times.
- Support special projects when needed.
Working schedule
The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The position also includes on-call coverage for emergency issues outside regular hours and occasional assistance with resident events.
