Role Overview
An award-winning architectural and design practice with AJ100 recognition is looking to add a Junior to Intermediate Interior Designer to its Leeds studio in West Yorkshire. The business operates from multiple design studios across the UK and is known for creating thoughtful, people-focused spaces. This role sits within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and offers the chance to contribute to a wide range of projects while building technical and creative capability.
About the Work
The studio delivers projects across workplace, residential, hospitality, leisure, and mixed-use sectors. The appointed designer will support projects throughout the full design and delivery process, working closely with architects, consultants, clients, and fellow designers.
Compensation and Benefits

Key Responsibilities
This position involves helping shape interior design concepts and bringing projects through to completion. The designer will also prepare presentation and technical outputs, coordinate finishes and furnishings, and take part in client and project meetings.
- Support the creation of interior concepts and detailed design proposals
- Prepare presentation boards, mood boards, and client documentation
- Develop technical drawing packs and written specifications
- Assist with FF&E selection, sourcing, and scheduling
- Collaborate with architects, consultants, clients, and the wider design team
- Join client meetings, site inspections, and project review sessions
- Contribute across all project stages, from concept design to final delivery
- Help ensure work aligns with project goals, budgets, and timelines
- Research materials, finishes, and current design trends
- Support the delivery of high-quality, people-centred interiors
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant is a qualified interior designer with practical UK practice experience. Graduate applications are not being considered for this role. A strong portfolio, technical confidence, and the ability to work well in a team are important.
- Degree qualified in Interior Design or a closely related subject
- Previous experience in a UK interior design practice is required; graduates are not eligible
- Proven background in commercial interior design projects
- Portfolio showing creativity, technical ability, and strong attention to detail
- Competent in AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience producing technical drawings, specifications, and FF&E schedules
- Solid understanding of UK building regulations, materials, and construction methods
- Strong visual communication and presentation skills
- Well-developed organisation and time management skills
- Comfortable working within multidisciplinary teams
- Energetic, proactive, and motivated to grow within a developing practice
- Interest in designing functional, engaging, and well-crafted interior environments
