Role overview
This position sits within the Major and Organised Crime (MOCS) Intelligence Team in the State Intelligence Group of the Queensland Police Service. The team coordinates intelligence work that supports specialist investigators handling statewide matters, often involving long-running and highly complex investigations alongside law enforcement partners.
The main purpose of the role is to deliver intelligence assistance for tactical and protracted investigations across Queensland, while also supplying management with timely, accurate and relevant advice.
Key accountabilities
- Help deliver the Queensland Police Service Strategic Plan by providing intelligence support to Commands and Regions for the assessment of problems, locations, cases and issues.
- Offer analytical guidance and practical recommendations to officers working on specific investigations and operational matters.
- Prepare and present intelligence assessments relating to crime and wider community safety issues, using recognised intelligence methods.
- Build and sustain productive working relationships within the Queensland Police Service as well as with outside agencies and stakeholders.
- Assist in improving and putting into practice effective work processes.
Role requirements
- The successful applicant may be assigned to work in any Group or Unit within the surrounding area where Crime Command operates.
- A psychometric assessment may be required before appointment.
- Work in this role may involve exposure to written, visual or audio material that is graphic or sensitive in nature.
- The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at least to Negative Vetting Level 1.
