Role overview
This position combines several field service functions, including pest control, exclusion work, minor repairs, and TAP (Thermal Acoustical Pest) insulation installation. The role is designed to support customers while delivering practical solutions that protect properties and improve service outcomes. Core duties
- Carry out inspections to spot pest activity and provide pest management services for residential and commercial customers.
- Install and maintain termite control systems as part of routine service work.
- Fit TAP insulation efficiently, including preparing the job site and cleaning up after the work is finished.
- Support light construction tasks, such as small repairs and replacements connected to pest damage.
- Explain services clearly to customers, answer questions, and help them understand pest control prevention steps.
- Perform exclusion work and wildlife removal, including trap setup, trap construction, and safe handling of related tasks.
- Keep up with industry changes, methods, and regulations by taking part in ongoing training.
Essential job duties and working conditions
- Work in environments with animals, insects, and termites.
- Operate in confined spaces such as attics, basements, crawl spaces, narrow corridors, and similar areas.
- Build exclusion traps and shape flashing and hardware cloth to specification.
- Remove animals caught in exclusion devices.
- Use a safety harness on rooftops when required for exclusion and wildlife-related work.
- Complete production and service records accurately.
- Work around mechanical equipment, vehicles, electricity, heights, scaffolding, fumes, dust, and chemicals, with training provided for safe handling.
- Lift, carry, push, pull, or reposition items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Maintain balance on narrow, slippery, or moving surfaces.
- Apply sustained force when pushing, dragging, hauling, or tugging objects.
- Work indoors and outdoors in local weather conditions provided by the company.
- Move frequently, including sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and moving on stairs, ladders, scaffolds, ramps, and poles.
- Wear required personal protective equipment, including an OSHA-compliant respirator.
- Drive a motor vehicle safely and keep the vehicle and equipment clean.
Requirements
- Must be clean-shaven for safety reasons so respirators can seal properly.
- High school diploma or GED required; related experience, training, or an equivalent mix of education and experience is also acceptable.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check.
- Valid driver’s license required, along with a motor vehicle record check.
- Available to work Monday through Friday, with Saturdays as needed.
- Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills for both internal and external interactions.
- Basic arithmetic ability, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to follow product-label instructions, including mixing directions.
- Licenses and certifications required by federal, state, or local rules are covered by the employer.
- Customer-facing experience is preferred.
Compensation and benefits
The base hourly pay range is $19.00 to $22.00. Starting pay depends on factors such as location, skills, education, and experience. Total earnings may also change based on overtime, incentives, commissions, performance, and route assignment where applicable.
