Role overview
This position oversees housekeeping quality and day-to-day room readiness at The St. Regis Singapore. The supervisor checks guest rooms, public spaces, and pool areas after cleaning to confirm they meet the brand’s standards. The role also involves coordinating room status updates, handling discrepancies, and keeping housekeeping operations aligned with front office, engineering, and laundry teams.
Key responsibilities
The role includes reviewing sold-room reports, confirming room conditions, identifying mismatched room statuses, prioritizing cleaning tasks, and updating information for rooms vacated by guests. The supervisor supports housekeeping leadership with daily operations and serves as a point of contact between housekeeping and other departments to keep workflows smooth.
In addition, the supervisor helps manage employee hiring, training, rostering, performance reviews, coaching, counseling, discipline, and motivation. The job also requires preparing and sharing room-assignment changes, passing updates to the next shift, completing required documentation, and resolving room-status issues with the front desk.
Standards and conduct
The position requires strict compliance with company policies, safety rules, and security procedures. Any maintenance concerns, hazards, incidents, or injuries must be reported promptly. The supervisor must maintain a polished personal appearance, protect confidential information, safeguard company property, and deliver courteous, guest-focused service in line with brand expectations.
Physical and system requirements
The work involves regular standing, walking, kneeling, sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling during a full shift. The role may require moving items up to 55 pounds without assistance and heavier items with help, as well as pushing loaded housekeeping carts across uneven or sloped surfaces. The supervisor should also be comfortable using computers or POS systems to enter and locate information and must be able to read details in different formats, including small print.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Candidates should have at least 1 year of relevant work experience and at least 1 year of supervisory experience. No license or certification is required.
