Role overview
Hauser & Wirth, a major commercial gallery for modern and contemporary art with locations across Europe, the USA, and Asia, is seeking a collaborative and highly skilled Graphic Designer based in London. The role sits within the Design Team and supports the gallery’s growth by shaping digital and print communications that promote artists and exhibitions.
The right candidate will be a versatile designer with strong command of both digital and print outputs, a solid grasp of visual design principles, and proven experience producing assets for multiple channels and formats. You will work across campaign design, social content, email, OOH advertising, responsive web experiences, and long-form materials.
What you will do
You will partner closely with the Marketing, Communications, and Digital Product teams to define briefs, set creative direction, refine concepts, and contribute design expertise to campaigns and digital products. The role also involves developing visual routes that help present artists and exhibitions in the gallery’s own spaces and at participating art fairs.
- Develop initial design ideas that can be carried through to polished final outputs.
- Deliver high-quality digital and print materials in collaboration with the Design Team.
- Support and help protect the gallery’s brand identity and visual standards.
- Work with Digital Product and Marketing teams so that creative work aligns with brand, usability, and digital requirements.
- Create digital assets such as static, motion, and HTML-based materials for social platforms, display and OOH advertising, eCommerce, email, downloadable PDFs, and mobile/desktop web experiences.
- Produce print-ready artwork for newspaper and magazine ads, brochures, booklets, long-form publications, wayfinding, and information design.
- Apply brand guidelines consistently to build cohesive visuals across channels.
- Design long-form content for both screen and print, along with invitations, menus, event flyers, posters, booklets, and packaging in line with corporate identity standards.
Skills and experience
The ideal applicant will have a degree in Graphic Design, Digital Design, or a related subject, along with 3 to 5 years of relevant design experience. A strong portfolio of effective digital campaigns and content is expected.
You should be confident working independently, making decisions, solving problems, managing risk, and communicating clearly under pressure and to tight deadlines. Success in a multidisciplinary setting, strong creativity, and the ability to defend design ideas thoughtfully are important.
Good written and verbal communication, strong organisation, and interpersonal skills are required. You should be proficient with industry-standard tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects and InDesign, as well as InVision, Figma, and similar software. Basic working knowledge of CSS and HTML is also needed.
Experience with motion graphics and video editing is beneficial but not essential. Familiarity with WCAG and ADA accessibility practices is expected. An interest in art is important, and experience in an art institution, cultural organisation, or gallery setting would be an advantage.
