Role Summary
This position supports the Human Resources team by handling reception tasks, day-to-day administrative work, paperwork, and event coordination. It is based in McKinney, Texas, with a morning shift from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The starting pay is $19 per hour, with some room for adjustment based on experience.
Reception Responsibilities
- Greet visitors and answer incoming calls, then route each person or call to the correct destination.
- Use the established voicemail procedure when managing messages.
- Welcome guests at the facility and provide a professional front-desk experience.
- Follow Food Safety expectations and complete required paperwork accurately and honestly when applicable.
- Observe posted Good Manufacturing Practices while working in the production area.
- Report suspicious packages, unusual activity, or suspicious individuals whenever applicable.
Administrative Support
- Provide help across multiple Human Resources functions as needed.
- Prepare charts, forms, and typed documents for other team members on request.
- Assist employees with general HR and payroll questions or issues.
- Support special hiring initiatives and recruitment activities.
- Help plan HR events such as employee celebrations, safety luncheons, and holiday parties.
- Assist with special projects connected to 401(k), pension, and medical insurance topics.
- File and scan HR and personnel records.
- Create new-hire paperwork folders.
- Maintain I-9 verification books.
- Track and monitor the approved driver list.
- Serve as backup support for the onboarding coordinator.
- Take on other duties that are similar in skill level, working conditions, and responsibility.
Education and Experience
The role calls for either a one-year certificate from a college or technical school, or between three and six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent mix of education and experience. Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, are required for the position. Candidates should also be able to perform basic math operations involving whole numbers, fractions, decimals, rates, ratios, percentages, and bar graphs.
Physical Requirements
This job mainly involves sitting and working with hands, with frequent talking and hearing. There may also be occasional standing, walking, reaching, and lifting or moving items up to 25 pounds. Close vision and the ability to adjust focus are needed to do the work effectively.
Work Environment
The environment is generally quiet while performing the essential duties of the role.
