About the role

Morrison Healthcare, part of Compass Healthcare, is recruiting right away for both full-time and part-time Food Service Utility roles at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, Louisiana. The position supports a workplace focused on care, inclusion, and meaningful service, with the goal of helping provide high-quality meals for patients, caregivers, and the wider community.

Work location and schedule

This job is based at 1214 Coolidge Street, Lafayette, LA 70503. Only online applications are being accepted. Shift patterns are available for both full-time and part-time schedules, and working days and hours can change. Final schedule details will be discussed during the interview.

Compensation

The pay for this role is between $15.00 and $16.00 per hour.

Role summary

The main responsibility of this position is to keep kitchen workspaces clean, organized, and in line with sanitation expectations, while also ensuring equipment and utensils are properly maintained.

Key duties

• Clean floors by sweeping and mopping to support safety and hygiene standards.
• Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food preparation surfaces.
• Collect waste and place it in the correct containers; clean garbage cans using steam or water hoses.
• Move supplies and equipment between storage areas and work areas.
• Help with banquet table setup and front-of-house arrangements.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and delivering supplies and products.
• Distribute utensils, portable equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Follow all assigned sanitation and safety procedures.
• Take on additional tasks as required.

Experience requirement

Previous experience in food service is required.
