We are looking for an Executive Assistant to join a well-established specialist contractor in the refurbishment and fit-out space. This office-based position is in Welham Green, Hertfordshire, and supports senior leadership during a period of growth. Working hours and location
This is a Monday to Friday office-based role in Welham Green, Hertfordshire. Standard hours are 07:00am to 16:30pm, although some flexibility may be considered.
What the role involves
- Providing forward-thinking support to senior leaders so they can stay focused on strategic priorities.
- Taking responsibility for inbox and calendar management to make sure time is used efficiently.
- Setting up meetings, noting actions, and helping important tasks keep moving.
- Supporting cross-department activity and internal business projects.
- Helping maintain structure, reporting, and visibility of key performance information.
Key responsibilities
- Handle busy inboxes, triage messages, and reply on behalf of senior leaders when suitable.
- Plan and manage diaries so deadlines and priorities remain aligned.
- Arrange meetings, prepare agendas, record minutes, and follow up on action points.
- Monitor strategic initiatives and project progress to ensure momentum is maintained.
- Create reports, update KPI trackers, and support performance reporting.
- Assist with recruitment coordination and onboarding activity.
- Provide adaptable support across the business to keep daily operations running smoothly.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate will be a proactive, highly organised Executive Assistant who likes being ahead of the curve. You should be comfortable managing several priorities at once, communicating confidently with senior stakeholders, and handling sensitive information with discretion.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Executive Assistant, ideally gained in an SME environment.
- Strong planning and organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise and respond quickly to changing needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence representing senior leaders.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to balance multiple tasks at the same time.
- A self-starting, practical attitude and the confidence to take initiative.
- Professionalism and discretion when dealing with confidential information.
