Role overview
Stepful is seeking a Director of Learning Programs to guide and scale its learning strategy across a growing set of healthcare training programs. The organization focuses on making allied healthcare education affordable, online, instructor-led, and supported by AI so that learners from many backgrounds can enter in-demand healthcare careers.
Alongside direct learner programs, Stepful also works with healthcare institutions to help close the national shortage of healthcare workers. Its graduates have gone on to roles such as Medical Assistants, Pharmacy Technicians, Nurses, and similar positions, with employer pipelines that include CVS, NY-Presbyterian, HCA, Providence, and Walgreens. The company is supported by investors including Y Combinator, Reach Capital, AlleyCorp, and Oak HC/FT, and was recognized by TIME as the #1 EdTech company in the U.S. for 2025.
Mission and values
The team is guided by a mission to expand access to high-quality healthcare and create more pathways into healthcare careers. Success at Stepful is rooted in a fast-moving, collaborative culture built around four values: putting students first, learning quickly through data, building together, and taking ownership.

- Work with Operations, Compliance, and Workforce Solutions to incorporate feedback from students and instructors into the learning experience.
Experience and background needed
- At least 10 years of experience in online learning, blended learning, curriculum development, academic program leadership, instructional design, or education operations.

- Prior experience leading curriculum developers, instructional designers, subject matter experts, or other learning teams.
- Strong analytical approach, with the ability to use data to improve learning design and student results.
- Capability to simplify complex healthcare or technical topics into clear learning experiences.
- Excellent communication skills and a track record of working effectively across teams.
